TR Internships Produce Top D.C. Talent

Truscott Rossman is dedicated to exposing students to careers in public relations. Our competitive internship program offers college students with first-hand experience working with diverse clients and learning professional skills in journalism, graphic design, public speaking, and communications.

Many TR interns have gone on to work for notable companies, nonprofits, and government agencies around the country. Current roles for our intern alumni include a news anchor, press secretary, producer, business partner, and more.

Washington, D.C. is the epicenter for breaking news and policy which makes it an ideal location for young, ambitious public relations professionals. Here is a snapshot of our previous interns that have started their careers in the nation’s capital:

Ryan Brown:

Ryan Brown interned in our Grand Rapids office in 2017. After relocating, he landed a fellowship on the NBC show “Meet the Press.” The public affairs television broadcast is the longest running program in the world. Ryan’s role entails extensive research in preparation for guest interviews and panel discussions. He also works on digital and graphic elements needed for production.

Noah Sadlier:

Noah Sadlier (pictured above with Josh Paciorek) was an intern in our Lansing headquarters in 2016.  He is now a Press Assistant at the U.S. House of Representatives. Noah is dually Press Assistant and Assistant to the Chief of Staff in the office of Rep. Fred Upton from Michigan. His role includes effectively communicating with press and constituents as well as providing his advice and insights on how to deal with media.

Tyler Lehner:

Tyler Lehner was a 2016 TR intern in Grand Rapids. He currently serves as a Senior Account Executive at Edelman’s D.C location. He specializes in tourism brand communications, media relations, and project management. Tyler has managed projects for Dubai Tourism, Business & Commerce, the Curio Collection by Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton.

Josh Paciorek:

Josh Paciorek interned in our Lansing office in 2013. His current role is communications director for U.S. Rep. Fred Upton. Prior to that position, he was the deputy press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence. Josh has directed media strategy, curated social content for millions of followers, and worked with the White House digital team to manage the global image of the vice president.

Lisa DeBone:

Lisa DeBone started her internship with TR in 2015 in Grand Rapids. She now works as a development and communications associate for The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty. Lisa utilizes policy advocacy, education, and impact litigation to create systematic reform to address poverty in the United States.

We are so proud of the great work our intern alumni are currently doing. These individuals are just some of the many examples of the demonstrated success of our internship program. We are so excited to see what they do in the future!
