2024: TR’s year of Right Person, Right Seat

2024 was a wild, exciting, and fun year for TR. As an EOS company, we set ambitious goals at the start of the year and created quarterly rocks to guide us toward achieving them.

This year, our overarching focus centered on one critical goal: ensuring the right person, right seat. In EOS terms, this means having someone who aligns with the company’s values, understands their role, wants it, has the capacity to excel in it, and is in the right position to thrive.

We started with our accountability chart – the EOS tool that outlines every role in the organization and its core functions. This chart is essential for providing our team with clarity around roles and expectations and ensuring clients are served by well-staffed teams that consistently exceed their expectations.

After many rounds of tweaking the accountability chart (and with a patient, open-minded team willing to collaborate), we faced a pivotal decision: Should our accountability chart include roles that propel us into the future? TR is committed to driving modern communications, so we leaned into our value of demanding growth and excellence and defined the roles we needed to succeed in the future.

This decision launched the second phase of our year of RPRS: building on the foundation of a strong, committed team by hiring for new roles and capabilities. This became a significant focus in the second half of 2024 – and it was a resounding success!

We also asked Chelsea Roberts, our Head of Brand and Design, to move to full-time, and we hired for several new roles:

  • Media Relations Specialist: Tessa Roy focuses on the future of media relations, growing relationships, pitching exceptional stories, and landing impactful placements.
  • Content Director: Jeremy Witt leads TR’s first-ever content department, driving modern content creation tailored to audience preferences.
  • Digital Specialist: Laura Edgington shapes TR’s digital strategy, covering web management, social media content, and paid digital campaigns.
  • Senior Director of Client Services: Elliot Talen leads a team of client directors, overseeing large, multi-department clients and ensuring exceptional results.
  • Account Analyst: Brooke Walters uses data to evaluate our work, uncover insights, and push for next-level opportunities for TR’s clients.

These new roles reflect where we see the communications industry heading and the essential skills agencies need to remain competitive. Each addition complements the strong foundation established by JT and Kelly, which focused on bipartisan public affairs, strategic relationships, and forward-thinking media relations.

Together, these steps reinforce our commitment to growth, innovation, and positioning TR for long-term success in a rapidly evolving industry.
