Goal: Brand visibility;

Outcomes: Earned media coverage, feature story, thought leadership;

Our Work: After taking his family company public, Flint entrepreneur Phil Hagerman made an effort to give back to the city and help rebuild his home town an its entrepreneurial spirit. He created Skypoint Ventures as a way to accomplish that goal and hired Truscott Rossman to help tell the story.

Our team worked closely with Hagerman to develop the messaging and media relations strategy that would tell position Skypoint Ventures as a leader in Flint’s entrepreneurial redevelopment efforts as well as showcase the small startup businesses that Skypoint helped launch.

Our efforts resulted in feature stories on Skypoint in USA Today, Crain’s Detroit Business and the Detroit Free Press and individual stories about the companies in its portfolio in outlets like and NBC 25. Earned media coverage was then repackaged for owned and social media content to further promote Skypoint’s ongoing work in Flint.

This worked helped further cement Hagerman as a key business leader and philanthropist not only in Flint but in Michigan and across the country.
