He is an expert in public relations strategy, media relations and crisis communications and was elected to the Public Relations Society of America Detroit Chapter’s Hall of Fame in 2006.
He founded John Bailey & Associates Public Relations in 1996 and grew it into a $5 million firm in just 12 years. His firm became one of the largest and most respected in Michigan, with offices in Troy and Lansing. Before founding JB&A, Bailey worked for two other major public relations agencies in the Detroit market.
John served the Detroit and Michigan communities as a board member of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Automotive Hall of Fame.
His book, The Power of Ownership: How to Build a Career and a Business, says that you can be honest and treat people fairly and succeed. His business success and ethics led him to be recognized by President George W. Bush in 2005.
