LANSING, Mich. – Truscott Rossman has once again been ranked the most effective public relations firm in the latest biennial survey of Michigan Capitol insiders conducted by MIRS/EPIC-MRA. The firm received 38 percent of the vote, more than twice the percentage of votes of any other public relations firm.

Nearly 300 lobbyists, lawmakers, department directors and other Lansing insiders were surveyed by the Lansing-based polling firm on a variety of topics.

“This designation means so much to us because these votes come from our colleagues, clients and even our opponents,” Kelly Rossman-McKinney, Truscott Rossman CEO, said today. “It’s truly an honor to be recognized like this by our peers.”

Rossman-McKinney and John Truscott joined forces in January 2011. Truscott Rossman was voted the most effective PR firm just a few months later, in the 2011 MIRS/EPIC-MRA survey.

This is the fifth time Rossman-McKinney and Truscott themselves have been ranked the No. 1 and No. 2 most effective public relations professionals. They have received the top honors each year the survey has been conducted – in 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013.

But this is the first year Truscott ranked above his partner as top communications professional.

Truscott called his top ranking “a humbling honor that means so much.”

The survey was conducted electronically May 9-17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.7 percentage points.
