New coronavirus ad campaign launches in Michigan, aimed at stopping spread

It’s red and it’s round, and its name is Rona.

It’s a characterization of the novel coronavirus, and it’s making its TV, radio, billboard and social media debut this week around the state, trying to show the public how easily the disease spreads, and how they can thwart it.

The images show a group of young men on the basketball court, and Rona is in the middle of the action. A group of young women are hanging out together, but Rona’s with them, too, and hitches a ride when one of them later visits her mother. When people go to the beach, Rona tags along.
